Bose has two options for those looking for a great soundbar to pair with their TV.– Soundbar 300 and Soundbar 500. The 300 is smaller, easier to install and less expensive, but offers inferior sound quality.
While the 500 offers the best sound quality, it's significantly more difficult to install and costs almost twice as much. Bose soundbars are available in 300 and 500 models.

While the 500 offers the best sound quality, it's significantly more difficult to install and costs almost twice as much. Bose soundbars are available in 300 and 500 models.
But which one is right for you? There are some differences betweenBose 300 x 500 sound bar, then compare the features below to see which works best for you.
The price
No matter what kind of product you buy, the 99/100 price is the first thing that will catch your eye. That's why we review products at all ends of the price spectrum.
If we limit ourselves to soundbars, for example, we haveThe Best Soundbars Under $200.
We understand better than anyone that every budget is different. Neither of the two we're looking at today are what you might call cheap; However, we still need to look at the average selling price for each.
Bose 300 Smart Soundbar
We'll start with the Bose 300, which, at the time of writing, tends to hover around $399.99. I know it sounds like a lot, but you make a lot of money out of it.
Bose wanted to make the top-end soundbar possible, but at the same time, they did everything they could to keep the price as low as possible, and I think they've succeeded here. It's worth noting that if you search eBay you can find them closer to the $300 mark.
Bose 500 Smart Soundbar
Here we have the big brother, the Bose 500, which is a top of the line soundbar. When it was released, it was Bose's most expensive soundbar, costing over $500.
When Bose released the Bose Smart Soundbar 700, the price dropped dramatically and was below the $500 mark at the top. If you're shopping on eBay and don't mind buying a refurbished one, you can find them for between $300 and $450.
The judgement
Hmm, it's hard to say which one offers the best value for money. I'm saying this isn't a gimmick, but since Bose has moved away from these soundbars, it's not as easy to find one of these new ones on a place like Amazon.
Purely in terms of price-performance ratio, I must give the 300 a slight nod.
Project
Next, let's take a look at how cool and stylish each of these soundbars are. At the same time, sound will always be the most critical aspect of a soundbar.
The thing is, most people have their soundbar in full view, so you'll want it to look sharp too.
Bose 300 Smart Soundbar
We'll start with the Bose Soundbar 300. This is a great compact soundbar measuring 2.21 inches high x 26.58 inches wide x 4.02 inches. It has that Bose look.
It's mostly black plastic, with the front and side of the soundbar sporting a really cool black metal grille that keeps the speakers hidden and looks great.
What I love about the Bose Smart Soundbar 300's design is that it's so small that it's ideal for smaller TVs.
If you have a smaller TV, say a 32-inch, the chances of it being in a super-wide set are pretty slim, so you'll need a more compact soundbar, and that's where it comes in. to play.
It looks very stylish, like all Bose soundbars. I have a hard time imagining anyone having trouble displaying this in their living room or home theater.
On the back of the soundbar we have its various connectors. You can use HDMI Arc or Optical with it. There's also a connection for a subwoofer and a micro-USB port, should you need an upgrade.
Bose 500 Smart Soundbar
Next we have its big brother, the Bose Soundbar 500. This bad boy's key metrics are 31.5" x 1.75" x 4". At 31 inches long, it's a little longer than the 300, something to hold on to is in the head.
You'll need a TV unit that can handle this, unless you're planning on wall mounting it, of course. I think the fact that Bose gives a similar look to all of its soundbars is fantastic.
The design is elegant and calm, fitting in any home theater room or under the TV. As with the 300, most of it is black plastic. Then you have this cool looking metal grille that covers the front and wraps around the side of the soundbar.
I think the fact that it's longer gives the grill a much more special look. Whether this is good or bad is, of course, up to personal preference.
As far as connectivity is concerned, you have the same as the 300 imArco HDMIand Optics along with subwoofer and micro USB port. This also has the advantage that an Ethernet connection is also available.
The judgement
In fact, they are quite similar. I bet your average person just won't tell them apart from another photo where the website doesn't put them on their side and you can see the difference in size.
Both look great, but I think the larger size of the 500 makes it a little more attractive.
You'll notice in some of our other soundbar reviews that they all look radically different. However, Bose likes to keep its stuff in a similar style, and I like that.
klang
Now we get to the heart of our Bose Smart Soundbar 300 x 500 competition. The idea behind a soundbar is to sound better than your TV speakers and I'll say right away, they both deliver! and more!
Bose 300 Smart Soundbar
I think as far as a 3.1 soundbar setup goes, the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 is one of the best when it comes to performance and value for money. A movie that my wife and I love is The Greatest Showman and that was the first movie we tried with this one.
We sat with him right in front of us (okay a few feet away but you know what I mean) and it really blew me away. The overall sound produced was fantastic and very rich, natural and full.
If you want a stereo setup with a soundbar, then you can't go wrong. While it doesn't have a built-in subwoofer, the bass is better than expected, and at the end of the day, you can always add a subwoofer if you're worried about that.
Even if you're watching something pretty intense like Hobbs & Shaw, you'll be very impressed with the sonic power you'll hear through this soundbar.
If you're a music lover, you might want to know how music deals with it. I connected this to my phone via Bluetooth and listened to some Spotify music and was very impressed. I thought the music was great, and actually 100 times better than my phone's speakers.
Bose 500 Smart Soundbar
Hmm, that followed the 300, and I have to say that I feel the Bose Smart Soundbar 500's larger size gave it a slight edge in the sound department for me.
My sister got me the Back to the Future: Ultimate 4K Trilogy for my birthday and she did the honors with this soundbar. Let me tell you, The power of love really rocked my living room when it exploded here.
I also cranked it up a lot and there was no distortion at all. It's the same setup as the 300, with the left, right and center speakers offering a 3.1 sound setup.
Many soundbars say they can deliver their surround sound and I have found this to be a gimmick. However, the Bose Smart Soundbar 500 does better than the 300 at filling the room with sound, offering much more simulated surround sound without having an actual surround sound setup.
My son and I saw Independence Day Resurgence (not as good as the first one, by the way) and I was really impressed with the sound dynamics.
As for the music, I had a lot of fun with it. I have to pass this on to my wife as she rearranged the Disney decorations we have in the living room (don't ask) and she ended up listening to Spotify on her phone through this soundbar for over an hour. . and she said it was great.
The judgement
The Bose Smart Soundbar 300 holds up well against the larger, more powerful 500. I can even understand why some people like the sound better than the smaller device produces.
However, I have to say that the Bose Soundbar 500 offers the best sound in my opinion. I was impressed with how sound can fill the room.
the remote control
Next, we'll look at what the remotes for these soundbars offer. While the soundbars look similar, they come with two very different remotes.
Bose 300 Smart Soundbar
I was surprised by the size of the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 remote. This is a pretty basic remote, but it does more than the job. It's similar in size and style to an Amazon Fire Stick remote.
It can be used with both Alexa and Google Assistant, which is great, and there's a really cool app you can download for your phone that gives you even more functionality.
However, to be honest, it's a bit of a hassle having to download an app to be able to use some of the features like dialog enhancement.
Bose 500 Smart Soundbar
The Bose Smart Soundbar 500 has an excellent remote control. This is much more feature rich. It gives you direct access to a few different presets and generally gives you a lot more control over the sound produced by the soundbar.
It is also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also be used with the companion Bose app, giving you even more cool features to get the most out of your soundbar.

The judgement
This is probably the most specific category to qualify for! The Bose Smart Soundbar 500 has a much better remote control. It gives you more direct control over your soundbar.
You could probably live without the Bose app if you have the 500. If you have the 300 I don't see you using the actual remote via the app as you have such limited control.
What's in the box?
Want to know exactly what to expect in the box when you buy one of these soundbars? Well here you will find out.
Bose 300 Smart Soundbar
Much like the actual soundbar. You will receive the remote control and power cord as expected. They also provide an optical cable, but they don't provide an HDMI cable! Come on Bose, this is pretty tight to be honest.
Bose 500 Smart Soundbar
In addition to your soundbar and power cable you will find your remote control in the box, but in addition to an optical cable you will also receive an HDMI cable! However, it involves more.
You also get a satellite block and your cable. You also get a Bose ADAPTiQ headset, which you can use to calibrate the soundbar to best suit your space.
The judgement
With 500 you get more for your money; It's crazy in my opinion that they didn't throw in an HDMI cable with the 300. If you're buying a refurbished device, make sure it comes with all the extras.
